AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) is a gateway to join Indian Air force in the following three Branches:
FLYING
GROUND DUTY (TECHNICAL)
GROUND DUTY (NON TECHNICAL)
AFCAT is an online exam which is conducted twice every year. There are total 100 questions in AFCAT written exam, where each question is of 3marks. For each correct answer, you get 3 marks and for each wrong answer one mark is deducted as negative marking. The duration of this exam is 2 hours.
The students, who qualify the AFCAT entrance exam, receive a call letter to appear in SSB interview referred as AFSB (Air Force Selection Board). After AFSB interview, qualified candidates have to undergo medical test. Finally, the merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the written exam, interview, and medical test.
The candidates who opted for Flying Branch has to qualify PABT test which is stands for Pilot Aptitude Battery Test. Those who opted for Ground Duty Technical Branch has to qualify EKT that stands for Engineering Knowledge Test.
